Intro/apology

Just wanted to introduce myself, and aplogize for not doing so earlier. (The wife of one my brother-in-arms gently, but firmly, pointed out that I was a bit of a "rude yankee" for not doing so. Bless her soul, sorry, to all of you).
My dog, who is part wolf, (just a bit, enough to bump his I.Q. up a few notches, but not too much to make him spooky around people), is much like me: just walks up, and makes himself part of the group, plain and simple.
So, though this is a hunting forum, (and we're all brothers and sisters that way, hunters), some of you may wonder why someone from Alaska is putting posts and comments on "KentuckyHuntint.com".
Lots of reasons, not the least of which is that one of my closest brothers-in-arms is from your (assuming you're from Kentucky) home state. Civilian stuff and military stuff don't mix too well, so I'm not going to get into it. Plain and simple, but I can say that you all have someone you can be very, very proud of. When the "pudding" hit the fan, (ahem), him and I, we didn't have to worry about the other. We stood.

Missing him, and loving everything about being home...that explains why I came across this website. We spent a lot of time talking about hunting, etc., etc.

My name is Lyle W. Berns. I have two daughters up here in Alaska, I drive an old Ford Pickup, (what's more comfortable?), and I love hunting/being outdoors. and my daughters favorite dish is moose-caribou stew...mmmmm.

This will be my last post like this, I promise you all (don't mean to get mushy, but like I said, his wife took me to terms for my actions,and I respect her quite a lot..and I see her point, I think, I'm working on it)...and I assure you, I meant no offense, to any of you, just barging in, and speaking my mind. Seriously.

One of these days, after he gets back home, I hope to make it down to your beautiful state, and see/smell/experience it for myself...in the meantime, if my thinking that we're all family, under the flag, and in the hunter's campfire...well, God Knows I've been wrong before.

Thanx for letting me browse, and put up posts...and if any of you think I'm outta line, etc., for being part of this thing, let me know. Surely, I didn't mean to offend anyone!

Hey, a big hearty and belated bluegrass welcome to you! I hunt from time to time with a retired Air Force guy who was stationed in Alaska for several years. I really enjoy all his stories about your home. By all means, I hope you'll share some of yours with us.

We talk alot of wildlife politics on this site, and we're always looking to learn how other's do it. Your Alskan experiences could really be of benefit, so don't hold back!

Glad to have you posting and your contributions so far. Always good to have a "yankee" perspective now and then. Not that us hard headed southerners will pay any attention hahaha. I hope to make it up to your great State one day to hunt myself.

Oh heck yeah, join right in. You will find that we have a lot of posters that are from other states. All are welcome. As one of my new friends said, "we're all brothers and sisters that way, hunters".[:D]

hey no need to apologize heck when i was in the marine corp we used to sing songs about Eskimo women LOL ...anyone thats been there knows the jingle...
i had some buddies hunt Alaska this past spring and they had a great time bragged on the fine folks up that way..

Welcome, Alaska. We're always glad to have some "new blood" on here. If you come to KY, go to Lex & visit Keeneland, go to eastern KY & see the mountains, & come down here to Western KY & see KY Lake & LBL. Heck, just move down here & see all of it!
