The ole' 270 is seeing its better days. I've had it for over 20 years now. The stock had enough character marks to look like Charles Bronsons' face. It has served me well, antelope, mule deer, elk and I can't count the number of whitetails....
Wife has agreed to get me a new rifle for Xmas.....now the fun part. I think I've narrowed it down to a new 7MM UM or 300 UM. But with all the new cartridges out there, my question is which one is going to survive, 300 UM , 300 SAUM, 300 WSM or 7MM insert designation. All in reality shoot about the same according to the charts. I like to get a new Remington 700 BDL or Model 7. Okay, who has the skinny on this and what do you all think? I plan to use it for elk, deer, caribou and maybe bear...
