J.C. Williams WMA in Boston

I have visited J.C.Williams in Boston, Ky. It's only 384 acres.
anyone ever seen any Turkey's there? It's only about a half hour from me. It's not real wooded, alot of wetlands, a small lake, and very tall grasses. If you haven't been here do you think it might be a o.k. place to go? would appreciate any comments, or suggestions where to go within a hour of louisville.

rule of thumb--a turkey hunter needs an average of 400 acres in most case to have a good hunt. In that case, you'd have to have it to yourself to keep from getting bumped.

I would look elsewhere for turkey hunting. As you stated, Williams is a wetland, with very little wooded area. I have seen a few hens on it here and there, but there is not much there for them - it stays too wet for them to nest on most of the area. I work out at Taylorsville Lake WMA and we oversee Williams as well. I will call you tomorrow about turkey hunting opportunities on the WMA(I got your phone message, but we have been out of the office.)
