Had one hell of a thunderstorm in Floyd county last night, powers out yet again, but the good news is it rained cats n dogs for almost 30 minutes. Hard driving rain in sheets.

I just moved down to Burgin a couple weeks ago and had yet to meet any of my neighbors. Luckily the cute little girl next door to me is scared of storms and was home alone. Haha. We sat out on the porch for a good 2 hours and watched the lightning and thunder go over. No rain though.

We got a 30 minute shower in Somerset last night about 11pm. Saw a flash out the window and thought a car had passed by. The wind got up to 25-30mph and rained in sheets with a lot of thunder and lightening. I still think you could walk outside and kick dust up though right now.

That big system over Owensboro or Fort Knox has been stationary for an hour or two. Somebody is getting a buncha rain out of it.
'But I would rather have it bent and dull and know I had to put it on the grindstone again and hammer it into shape and put a whetstone to it, and know that I had something to write about, than to have it bright and shining and nothing to say, or smooth and well-oiled in the closet, but unused.

You spoke too soon...I can't believe we missed out on most all that. It's like we have a dome over us. It has come a down pour on every side of the county over the last two days. I think just a little sliver of the country got some but for the most part we missed again. Owensboro got slammed...over 2 inches. We still have a little chance to the west but it's looking slim.
