Is there a State Record for longest beard?

Well I had no idea this bird was so special. I didn't mount him and yes he is in the freezer. I kept the beard, fan, and spurs and they are drying on a board.

I have emailed NWTF and have not heard back. While taking photos the beard broke when it was stretched out it hit 21 inches.

What bugs me is that I left the video camera at home and was hoping to get all the action on video this season.

Bird was taken with a Benelli Nova, under 25 yards, with 3.5 #4's shells on the family farm. It weighed a little over 18 lbs.

My father bagged a 20 lb bird earlier in the day. It was the best opening weekend I ever had. Birds gobbled all day and weather was great.

My only regret was that my son Joshua was not able to be there with me. He passed away last Feb at the age of 21.

A 21 inch Beard is amazing. Most Toms that are taken have Beards that are between 8 and 11 inches long.
