I went out to Camp Ernst Lake this morning with the kayak and the fly rod. This was actually the first time I've ever attempted to fly fish out of my kayak and I have to say it was probably one of the most fun times I've ever had fishing for bluegill. I paddled out to a spot where there is a ton of standing timber and a few laydowns. Lots of room for the gills to hide and ambush bugs. I tied on a little popper and whipped it out next to anything I could see sticking out of the water. The gills couldn't get enough of it. A few of them almost darn near swallowed my bug! Not really sure how many I had altogether since I was just throwing them all back but it was non stop for just about the entire 2 hours I was on the water.

It's funny because before fly fishing I never really cared for bluegill. Yeah they were fun for the kids to catch and I enjoyed watching the kids pulling in one after another with their worms and bobbers but that was about it. Once I started fly fishing it became a whole new ballgame. All of the sudden these guys were a ton of fun to catch. And NOW that I've done it in a kayak it has taken it to even higher level. Now I just need to get them to hit a fly I tied myself....

A couple friends and I are looking to take a trip for my birthday. None of us have ever been to dale hollow and that sounds interesting to me. I'd love to try it out. I've done some research and can't find much fishing info. I've seen some things about big smallies and walleye and musky. Which I'd love to try out but I don't know a thing about musky or walleye. And I've only fished for smallies in creeks. I'm not much of a bass fisherman though I have plenty of artificials. Lol. I'm looking to head there early August. I'd like to do some cat fishing, that's my passion. What are the cat population/sizes like? What else would be good around that time? If I end up going there, ill try to do some research (and hopefully get some tips) and try to catch a musky or a few walleye. What are the bow fishing opportunities like? Thanks in advance for any tips and information.

I have a Fisher/Tracker grizzly 1860 and the pumps have always been quirky. sometimes they will work, sometimes they won't. Sometimes they'll decide to start working while I'm driving down the lake. Lately, they just don't work at all. Does this sound like an electrical problem or do I need to replace both of them? I have a friend with a 2072 Grizzly and his is the same way.

I have a multi-meter but admittedly have only use it once and that was about a year ago. If I could diagnose it myself, I'd like to save the coin if I can. I was just out there for 20 minutes or so testing the switching and connections. Rather, more accurately, I was trying to test connections but meter was showing zip-po. I have checked all fuses and they were good.

I pulled my line back in and dropped it right in front of him. He took the wooly booger about 6 times and grabbed it good each time, but the hook would never set.
