My boyfriend took me to one of his hunting spots where I killed this one. I was sitting on a bucket with him standing behind me. He was so excited he had his hand on my shoulder and shaking so bad that I thought I was going to miss! I didn't and ended up with an 8 pointer weighing 254 pounds.

We also purchase bonus antlerless tags which allows us to harvest 2 extra antlerless deer. Here is where the dispute comes in...

If you kill 2 antlerless deer the first 2 days of season, I understand that you have to use your original permit up completely before moving on to the bonus permit. My wife says that you can check 1 doe on your statewide permit and check another on the bonus permit leaving the original "antlered" deer permit available to utilize later in the season. I understand differently after talking to KY Department of Fish & Wildlife officers at a convention this year. They told me that one of the problems that is trying to be fixed is to allow hunters to essentially "save" their antlered tag for a mature buck while harvesting as many does as you want as long as you keep purchasing bonus antlerless tags.

The reason I ask this question is because I have a friend who has already harvested 2 does and used the telecheck system and is still out hunting for his mature buck. My concern is that his statewide permit is already filled up and might run into trouble if he kills a buck and tries checking it in???

We all know that the numbers of hunting licenses sold each year is decreasing at an alarming rate.

OK so here's my point. If we as a community (hunting community) bash the heck out of every democrat out there. Constantly bicker and act bitter about politics and make our community appear 100% neo conservative then isn't this going to hurt our sporting future?

Wouldn't it be better for us to try to put off a more even keeled air so that a young budding environmentalist can join our ranks, feel the joy and passion of hunting and then realize the importance of firearms, etc?

Every hunting forum out there is dominated by these posts that are anti-Democrat and I am fearful that this might be hurting our reputation.
