Folks,

I know a number of people who visit this site are members of the NWTF, and I need to pass along something very important.

Joe Bland, our current state president and a former RD for us, is on the ballot to gain a seat on the national NWTF Board of Directors. The ballot will be published in the upcoming issues of Turkey Call and Women In the Outdoors magazines, which you should begin receiving around the first of November, give or take a week or two.

I beg you to take the time to vote in this election, and to encourage others in your chapter and on your committee to vote. We have never been able to get a Kentuckian on this board, although Sam Mars is from Kentucky, lives here right on the border, but they count him as Tennessee because his home chapter is a Tennessee chapter.

Joe has been a tremendous asset to the turkey program and to the NWTF. He is a retired Captain of the KDFWR, does taxidermy, has busted his butt for the NWTF for a long time and is just an all-around good guy with a great family. He deserves your support.

As most of you know, you have to vote for three and only three people on the ballot, and I know this rankles some folks to the point they don't vote. Please don't take that attitude, because if you don't vote, you are essentially voting AGAINST Joe. Study the bios carefully, and I'm sure you'll find two others with backgrounds you can feel comfortable supporting. Frankly, there are no bad candidates on this ballot, so you really can't go wrong.

Many of you have given me great support over the years, and I would consider it a personal favor if you'll join me in supporting Joe Bland.

Thanks!

Gregg Snyder

Sky,

Thanks for your great words of support for Joe Bland. I couldn't have said it better myself. It might be of interest to know that only 85 of almost 10,000 members in Kentucky voted for the NWTF Board of Directors last year. The highest number of votes ever received by any nominee was only around 2000. So if we can get our Kentucky membership to "step up to the plate" and vote, we should be able to help Joe achieve his goal and enhance the future of the NWTF with Joe's leadership. Anyone reading this message, please spread the word and reach out to your local membership to vote for Joe.

I placed a similar message on the NWTF website, on the "Message Board", "General Forum". If you have a minute, please click onto this site and provide some positive responses. The more we can "effectively communicate" with NWTF members throughout North America, the better chance Joe has for becoming a Board Member.

Thanks to all who will support Joe Bland!!!

Hey Gregg, Did you have a good time saturday night? Guys i had the pleasure of taking Joe Bland and Gregg Snyder to the Gun Stag that Phil Rawlings had on saturday. I think we all had a good time and raised some money for the Wheelin Sportsman. I can tell you that i think Joe will do a great job for us and will be a wonderful spokesman. Please take time to vote for Joe.
