We brought home 8 teal and one mallard. I've been waiting for Smokensomewigz to give a better description of what went on out there! Fun opening day!

CEO, got home yesterday, started cleaning those ducks and noticed 9 teal and 1 grnhead. Who knew? As far as the day, not bad but ducks just would'nt do too much. I don't know what it is but it seems like on some days there's something in the air and they just wont respond good. It was real calm and I might have called a little too much or too loud but when you've got that many people hunting around you my experiance is get'em, keep'um, kill'um. You just never know. I think if we would've had a jerk string up we would've done alot better. Two of the guys that was with us went back this morning and killed 8. I guess I'll go back again in the morning. From what I'm hearin at work it was'nt too good for alot of people.

Hunted a farm pond along the Green River in McLean County. Had 4 mallards come in Thur and 7 today, but they all landed on the other side, except for one this morning that landed right in the decoys 5 minutes before shooting time, and almost landed on one of the guys head as he was adjusting a decoy. Saw no high fliers, and we'll try it again tomorrow.

Hi everyone, I am new to the forum, but plan on including the birds and action that I see. Thurs. morning got 3 mallards and two gadwall, was hunting a farm pond in central KY South of Lexington. Total that day, I saw one group (10) early, some singles and doubles, then a flock of 8 mallards, got two drakes out of that bunch.

Friday, only got a gadwall drake, but saw another early flock, and two birds that turned and ran as soon as I called. That was it. This morning I went to a farm pond just North of Lexington, saw nothing. I only stayed until 8:30.

Hopefully we will get a push from Lake Erie with this weather, I think that the residents are getting wise fast.

Good Luck guys.

Had a good day on Sat. We brought home 19 gadwalls off a central KY pond. We knocked down a greenhead that flew off after sitting on the pond for a while. Saw lots of birds, but the mallards were really spooky. Even the gaddies had to be called and worked, most naaking 2-4 passes before comitting.

Good Hunting...Tim H.

We hunted four different ponds in central KY, one each day. We had 2 Thursday, 2 Friday, 4 Saturday and 12 yesterday. Saw a lot of birds each day, but really could not get any groups to work until yesterday. All total we brought home 10 gadwalls, 3 teal and 7 drake mallards. Can't wait to go back this week sometime. Good luck to all!
