300 pounder?

I heard second hand that a 300 pound 8 pointer was taken in Oldham county recently. Supposedly it was taken by a 17 year old. Anyone heard anything about this?

look at http://www.american-hunter.com/monsterbucks for the Brandon Thomas buck, I believe that is the one you are referring to ... picture may be deceiving but I don't think it looks like 300lbs in the photo. The buck was weighed "live weight" at the Clear Water taxidermy shop in J-Town, I guess the scales don't lie??.. btw, the boy is 15 and it was a bow kill and the buck has a massive rack.

Clearwater is where I get all my deer mounted and I held that rack in my hand the day after that deer was taken, the picture doesn't do it justice, I don't know about the weight of the deer I'll have to ask Jim or Barb up at clearwater,but the rack is sweet, I heard that Brandon missed two other bucks that morning before the one he shot came through.

I'm not sure that's the one I heard about. The guy that told me about it said that it was an 8 pointer and that it dressed over 300. He also said that it was the third buck to come out of Oldham Co. that dressed over 250 and that it was taken recently. That buck was taken back in Oct.

Hopefully (if this is a true story) some pics will come out soon.

Well, so much for the word not getting out [:)] ... that list for 2002, 13 of 24 bucks were Kentucky bucks.
