ok here is a senerio Johnny Buckhunter shoots a 10 pter calls the telechek checks in his deer.....cuts the antlers off or just the head...and leaves the carcass laying in the field.. or shoots a doe takes the loins has he broken any game law?
NOOOOOOOOOOO
waterfowlers understand wanton waste law does it apply to deer/turkey NO
state requires that they be checked in is all...NOT a damn thing says that you must take/use the meat....

It's the same way in other states. Once it's checked in what you do with it is your bussiness. I never waste any of mine, after I take care of my freezer and friends I give the rest to Hunters for the Hungry.

There is a difference between being legal and being ethical.

I'm not sure that this is a Cyberhunter issue. The attitude created by the Depts. Doe Eradication Program (D.E.P.) has sadly made this happen more than you realize. Under the D.E.P., you are incouraged to kill as many does as you want, even if you don't want the meat. They would prefer that you donate the meat to the HFC but at $30 a whack, not many will do that for very long.
As for the law, there is no wanton waste law on the books, but that person would have to have a carcass tag on the animal if he left it in the woods. Now that makes perfect sense.
Some other states do have wanton waste laws. For example, in Alaska, you must salvage ever available bit of edible meat. This law is vigorously enforced and is one of the most common violations wrote each year.

a carcass tag would NOT be required to be on the carcass ....it says he must fill out his hunter log before moving and it must remain with the carcass if it was left out of his posession until it has been processed....taking the loins would be considered just that...
NOT in my book but in Mr Slobs book yes

Just removing the loins ould be considered processing without a wanton waste law, but not just sawing off the skull cap. As soon as he leaves the animal, it has to be tagged.
I don't think the Dept. or the Commissionor would be interested in putting in these restriction. Anything that might make a person not kill a doe would be unfavorable.

I want to clarify the Cyberhunter's position. We are aginst devalueing the does in Kentucky's fine deer herd. But this seems to be acceptable to the Commissionors and to our game Dept. I'd suggest you contact your commissionor and voice your concerns. The notion that X number of deer need to be killed without providing a workable solution is irresponsible.

Boy that hit a nerve with me Rutnbuck. Last year just two miles from my house on a old gravel road someone threw out FIVE, yes FIVE doe carcasses out right on the side of the road. The only thing they salvaged was the hind quarters off of two and cut the backstraps out of the other three and all five were in plain view of the road.
Talk about de-valueing does AS WELL as de-valueing hunters. I was so mad I could have blew up! I wish there was a law against disgraces such as this.

LOL, I am like a little rat, I am cutting for ever getting every last piece of meat. The lesser quality/smaller pieces we use for jerky. We waste very little. Stuff is like gold to me! :)

i agree
it bugs me too...first off i had a neighbor tell me he saw a car parked on my land so i thought i would go there 2nd day of gun....hoping to catch them again to my surprise i found 3 deer complete carcass minus the loins, and i know of another fella that found 15 YES 15 dead deer loins was the only thing taken.......
this bugged me i would love to see a law that in some way these slobs have to either use the meat or give it away OR STAY HOME

The way it is now, i.e., a landowner in a "killem' all" ( Zone 1) county can kill a hundred does, "not cost him a penny" and not process a single one , as long as he Telecheks them.
With the de-valueing of our deer, we haven't seen anything like this since the 1800's, when they shot American buffalo just for their tongue!
If this is becoming this common, we need to establish "Wanton waste laws" on deer, NOW.

Last year on Thanksgiving, a buddy of mine hit a yearling, well, I had to go and put it down as its legs were broke and couldn't walk. Where did that little girl end up...my belly and freezer, every piece I could salvage.
Yes, we need to watch the slobs who do this and hold them responsible indeed.
