i'm hunting my grandmothers farm along w/a certain cousin, i'm very particular about what i shoot! i passed on 6 different bucks during gun
season!
so here is the problem. my cousin took a nice 8-point , then took a doe last friday! so i see him sunday morning parked at the gate ready
to hunt! so i said" you're tagged out aren't you?" and he said "nope
i can still kill another doe." after informing him he had to buy a bonus tag and hunt w/a bow he continued to go hunt! (he knew before i
told him anyway) and he plans on hunting during the muzzleload season!
so i'm pretty sure he never tagged the 8-point! but, i cant prove this to the c.o. what should i do? i am really pissed off about this! how can i find out who my c.o. is?

i you can call the 800 # with details and it will be kept confident...tell them the county etc his name they will corner him and in such a way he wont know you did the reporting..
ON the other hand i am sure if you posted a little more info about him on here someone else would gladly do so...
they will run a check on his SS# to see if any deer have been checked under his name...that would really piss me off too because he is stealing from you....you will suffer from his actions...

Tough call with it being a relative. This may sound silly, but have you considered telling your grandmother? She might not like the idea of someone breaking the law on her land and set them straighter than a CO could.
Ruttin buck offers some good advice on having the state see how many deer he has checked this year.
Hope it all works out for you.

Kybuck, what you just said makes me feel good about one of my cousins. He had shot a small 8 pointer first weekend of gun season and he was doe hunting this past sunday. He said he saw a monster buck that passed 20 yards of him. He counted 16 points, He never shot. Most people probably would have. His other cousin with him would have though, because his youngest son hadn't taken a buck yet. I guess the right cousin was in the right place. He said he would hunt him next year with his bow if someone didn't take him during late muzzleloading season. No he didn't tell his other cousin that was with him where he saw it at. They both hunt the same farm.

Kybuck,
I thought I remembered where you were from so I checked your profile. I grew up in that county and still have family there, heck I still have a little brother in high school (you may know him)
I have always wathced your comments with interest since you hunt my old stomping grounds and I figured you might know my brother. I believe you are the type of sportsman that knows the answer to your problem.
You had one post about not seeing as many deer on your place. If you don't stop him now it will only get worse. It's a tough call, but someone has to do it. BTW the CO in your county is Keith Ethington.
Good luck.

Tough Call I mean really tough!
Family will be with you longer than the mount on the wall. Seems a bigger question is how can you teach your cousin good hunting ethics. Getting him a fine might make him think twice about not tagging a deer (if he's dumb enough to confess). But changing his way of thinking will stay with him a lot longer. And have added benefits to you. What a victory that would be to make a better hunter out of someone.
Good luck!

thanks for the help guys, and any more is appreciated!
if the kdfw does look into it they will just ask him if he has shot a buck and all he has to do is show them his not filled out a tag! then he will know someone has ratted him out. (which i don't care if he does,he has broke the law not me)! but with no proof he will get away w/it!
i think i will go see ethington (c.o.) to get a better fill on what to do!
thanks t-storm ! i doubt i know your brother i graduated from high school 18 yrs ago! LOL

Kybuck,
I thought I remembered seeing something about you in school. Oh well
I guess you probably don't know the little bro. Did you go to the county school or city?
