Mud tasting catfish

The catfish I catch in farm/pay ponds is very white and lacks that muddy taste of lake caught cats. I cut out the mud line when filleting them, but they have such a muddy taste that I can't stand them. Anybody know how to get rid of that nasty taste?

soak the fillets in water,milk,and a dab of salt soak over night

This time of the year many taste that way. Catch them in May and they won't taste so bad.
