Would someone be so kind as to give me some info. on deer hunting Area 2. Where are some good places to go ? I'm not that familiar with LBL. I do know of one place, but just in case it may be already occupied, it would be helpful to have another option. Your suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks in advance. (I'm going this weekend on the gun hunt)

Hey there! Me, my dad and our main hunting partner were down the last week of October. I wouldn't say you should have any problem with hunting pressure. We maybe saw 4 different bowhunters the whole 9 days we were down. It is an annual trip for us. The deer there are hard to hunt IF there are a lot of acorns like there are this year. There are so many white oak, that deer really can't be patterned until the acorns dry up. Once they do, then you can hit the trails.
Again, I wouldn't worry about running into anyone, you should have it mostly to yourself!
Let me know if you need any other info...

Chances are I would not worry about hunting pressure. I was down there the 2nd weekend in October and I did not see anyone the entire time. I hunted about 3 miles from the vistors center. I saw lots of signs, but only does. Good luck. Watch out for those yotes, they are thick at LBL.
I'd rather be huntin....

You said your going for the gun hunt. LBL has a fixed number of hunters for each area, all hunting the same day so you can run into a few people. It's a good idea to have several places scouted and try to be the first on stand at the place you really want. I'll email you with a place to have a look.

I hunt LBL every year. We always hunt area 10, but I have hunted area 2 before. During late bow season, we hunted a huge broomsage field with some honeysuckle plants in it too, we saw huge amounts of deer. Also, we hunted some briar-patch bedding areas too and had moderate success.
