I love to turkey hunt. How do you feel about fall hunting compared to spring? What kind of success have you had?
What suggestions do you have about the fall?

I love to take on Turkeys, no matter the season.
Anyone going to be out there next month, or do you hace deer fever too much to mess with it?

Looking forward to all replies.
Later, Mike

I like to work turkeys and figure out how to call them into range, therefore I prefer the spring .As far as killing turkeys, thats part of the game but probably the smallest part. I enjoy taking someone else in the spring as much as killing one myself. Don't get me wrong, I love to kill turkeys, but I'm usually satisfied to work a tom.

I have hunted turkeys both season's since i got into turkey hunting in 1990. Spring, for all it's beauty of renewal, the fresh smells of earth reaching for the skies after a long cold winter, is hard to beat! Throw in gobblin turkeys and three weeks of vacation and im in hog heaven! Love chasin fall birds due to the lack of other hunters. Have had portions of Peabody all to myself during the December segment of the fall gun season. I'd go with spring if i had to make a choice...barely!

what u get out, is what u put in

I enjoy both, but spring is my favorite time to get after them. I have had fairly good success in the fall, as well as the spring. Fall hunting, IMO, your best bet it to have the birds patterned and get there before they do. They do respond well to calls in the fall, just tone it down.

I have had limited success in the fall, but I think that is because of the hunter. I find it hard to sit and wiat for a bird to walk by. The spring is better for me. I enjoy hunting a bird that is vocal and responding to calls. I guess I will try and hunt the fall again this year. Who knows, I might get lucky and bag the other long beard that I didn't get a shot at this spring.[:D]

It's fall for me. They are a lot more vocal and I get more opportunities for shots(bow). Seems like somedays they will make(and respond to) any call I make.

spring spring spring,, if i killed a gobbler in the fall that would be one less gobbler i hear in the spring, shoot a hen and save a gobble if ya gonna hunt them, truthfully which is the better hunt catching a gobbler strollin around with his budddies or callin to him hammerin all the way no choice at all for me
