Just got the computer back on-line. Have been hunting OH for a week & am a little behind schedule. Did I see that they are going to re-visit the hunter orange on WMA's again?

New one on me Ralph but hey!...It takes a good man to be able to keep up. My question is whats up with this proposed pistol season?

I wanted to attend the commitee meeting but I can't get off. I have the March meeting locked in though. God help the working man!

So far this has been a darn rough old bow season. How about you Ralph?

Guys there is someone who is wanting this hunter orange deal passed, and the pistol season is just another shot at taking away the bowhunters time in the woods. They are continuing to take away from the pleasure of hunting, no check station to promote the sport and enjoyment of sharing your harvest, Where is this going anyway?? Open it up from Sept to Feb, carry what you will because they are anyway, YES I'm fed up with this picture. I love whitetail deer and hunting but there are some very serious problems within the way KDFWLR are handling our herd and the way hunters are being taken out of the picture.

I guess we have gotten to a "shoot what you bring" point in most parts of this state in regards to the whitetail.....[V]

I stopped by my check station had to be 30 guys out there a dozen women and some kids. Two women grilling burgers it was nice. The check stations need to make it inviting if they want hunters to stop on their way home weigh their deer and buy some cokes and such. See having a scale out their will make almost any hunter stop.

WHAT CHECK STATIONS?

Most of the old check stations still have the scales and hanging trees. Just stop in have a moon pie and a root beer, shoot the stuff with the other folks that are there. For three bucks you can get a pic taken and get a hanging weight. Traditions die hard in my neck of the woods.

Ralph, I think it was brought up at the Dec. meeting, from someone in the audience, how it got on the agenda I have no ideal. But if I can get there tomorrow I'll let you know what happens.

Well, I remember the stink over this hunter orange on the WMA's for bowhunters at the March meeting. I said at that time, & some of you saw it & remember it, that it was just withdrawn by Boatwright & was not voted on at all & I said on the Bowsite THAT IT WOULD BE BACK!Well, guess what? It IS BACK! It just makes me doubt the voracity of some members of the Commission when things like this happen. Both the pistol season & the hunter orange were on previous agendas. Joe Average takes off work in March (they don't pay Joe Average for showing up), goes to the meeting, thinks HIS Commissioners & the KDFRW have actually heard his pleas, then they stick it to Joe Average a few months later. Congratulations KDFWR.

Birdman, if this comes to vote, let me know how Frank Brown votes. He knows the opinion of the 6th on this one.
