I arrived back home monday from an awesome pheasant hunt at the Van Darby club in Mechanixburg Ohio. 30 pheasant and 10 quail in the bag and they cleaned the birds!
Good dogs, fast, fast, fast birds, and plenty of skeet in the afternoon. My shoulder is black and blue and I couldn't be happier!
I think I melted my redlabel[:D]
This was probably my last hurrah for a while since my first littlen' is due in 3 weeks. I just wanted to share it with the gang.

PS does anyone know an affordable taxidermist for pheasant in central KY? I couldn't resist, I just had to freeze one for mounting.

I'm so envios I wanna go Pheasant hunting so bad it hurts.

congrats in advance on your lil one. They are life changing. Scarry at first but all good (until two years of age) but by then they know how and when to turn on the charm.

Check out the Darby Club in Mechanicsburg OH. You don't have to buy a license or even have a hunter safety card (I did anyway though). They have a big lodge with full kitchen and showers, pool room (with jukebox), a 20 acre lake full of trophy (I mean TROPHY!)bass, and top notch staff. The guides are top notch and they have a full kennel of dogs if you don't bring your own. There is a heated bunk house thats just 80 yards from the lake. It's a postcard!
I'm going back every year from now on.
Its also in prime big buck country, bordering Xenia, where the world record Beaty buck was taken.
I would recommend the place to anyone who was looking for great wingshooting or just a good weekend getaway.
