I have a Knight MK 85 that I love. It holds its zero year after year. I also have a T/C Encore but I have not shot it. I bought it so I could swap barrels. I have a .308 Win barrel for it. I owned an early Model Rem 700 ML that used percussion caps. It was very accurate, but I had problems with consistent denoation of the caps. I talked to several people who had similar problems. I swapped out different nipples, but it almost cost me a nice buck in Ohio Co.because the cap would not fire. I was able to recock the bolt and fire again at the deer. Dropped him quick with a 300 grain Hornady .45 XTP bullet and 90 grs of blackpowder. The next day I sold it cause I couldn't trust it. When Remington switched to using shotgun primers, the problem was probably fixed. The guy who bought my gun installed an after market shotgun primer conversion, and hasn't had any problems. If I was going to buy a strict ML gun, I would look hard a the thumbhole Omega. It's a little pricey, but it should be accurate. Knight is probably on track with their Revolution, but I don't like having to use the discs. Has anyone used the Encore that can recommend a good load. I've heard Barnes shoots good. I thought I might try the new Hornady ML bullets. I think I will use Triple 7 in the Encore, though I have always loved regular blackpowder in my MK 85.

I have an older model TC Thunderhawk with no scope. I have never missed a deer with it and never had a misfire. In fact, I have killed more deer with it than any other weapon. I love it. It shoots a .50 cal sabot about as straight as can be. I actually use it alot during modern gun season simply because of my confidence in it.

Knight DISC rifle, Nikon scope, Prydoex pellets, 240gr Hornady XTP Sabot bullets. Works great. I believe the new Knight Revolution and the TC Omega would also do a great job.

CVA Hunterbolt for now. I have been thinking about trading it for an Optima though. A friend of mine has one and he said that it is the best ml that he has ever had.

I have two ml's.One is a CVA Hawkins that I only shoot blakpowder in and the other is a TC Black Diamond 50 cal. that I bought last year.Using 777 pellets it shoots great and not alot of recoil if you want the extra power of the third pellet.

An old Thompson Thunder Hawk. The most reliable muzzle loader I have owned. I believe it was one of the first inline models available.

CVA Firebolt Ultramag with 209s. Two pyrodex 50 gr. and after a lot of group testing. The best for mine are powerbelts with the tips. Toped off with a tasco 3 9x40 see through mounts. Not a high dollar outfit but man does it fill the meat locker. Don,t let all that skull bone give ya the shakes.

I also have a Stainless steel TC Thunderhawk. I changed the nipple so I could use Muskets caps. I have a Stainless Omega ordered. I am interested in selling the Thunderhawk. It is in excellent conditions. Anyone interested, make me an offer.

I hunt with a Savage MLII & a flintlock as well as several caplocks. It all depends on the weather & the area I plan to hunt. Prior to getting the savage, I always used a BP revolver in wet weather (kept it inside rain suit in shoulder holster) & hunted really close - still do occasionally.

I shoot a T/C Encore .45 Mag. Very accurate with 3 Pyrodex pellets pushing a 195 grain Powerbelt. Probably going to try Triple Seven some this year but will probably have to cut back on the powder as I've been told it's hotter than Pyrodex.

One of a very few Knight MK 85 Backcountry Carbines short 20 inch barrel. Built before Modern Muzzleloading went into mass production. Two stocks, a laminated shadow black and a synthetic thumbhole. 50 cal, best load is 45 cal hornaday xtp by use of a sabot, 100 grain of pyro, either loose or two pellets.

Number two is another unique Knight weapon. It is a Knight Hawkeye handgun. 50 caliber, Single shot, 12 inch barrel with a shadow black stock also. Have a accura dot red dot sight mounted on it. Best load is 70 grain p-pyro (max load) under a 44 serria JHC by use of a sabot.

I call it the hand cannon... It lets you know when you pull the trigger. I will try and remember to bring it to the next cookout along with some powder and bullets so you can see for yourself.

Out of 4 pages of responses I haven't seen anyone mention my brand yet. I own a .50 Cal Marlin MLS50. I've heard it's the only model of ML that Marlin made. Damn good gun. I traded a .243 w/synthetic stock (w/out a scope, sling) for it (w/scope, sling, ammo) 4 yrs ago. I have never regretted it. Awesome gun.

I shoot an Encore 209X50 and load it with 90grns tripple 7, pushing a 300XTP Hornady in a red Traditions sabot. I have killed three deer to date with this load and each died within 50yrds of where shot. I have found it to be my most accurate as well as penetration. Two were broad side with complete pass thru and the third was facing me when shoot, the bullet ended up just under the skin beside it's bung hole. So it works for me, good luck.
