I recently purchased a Barska 3-9X40mm scope for my .22 rifle.
When I got the scope, I found that the mounts were too big to fit my Marlin .22. Anyone have an idea the size mounts I need to replace the factory mounts with?

The mounts on the scope are probably for a Weaver type base. You will need a 3/8" mount to fit a grooved .22. You can find a reasonably priced set of these at Walmart.

Thanks, went to Wal Mart this afternoon and purchased a new set for under $8 bucks.

I have a 3x9x50 on my 10-22T and it's held up excellent. Very clear and at 100 yard's ya can see a nat wink. Well almost.

Now that is clarity right there...LOL I'd say that ranks right up there with having a shotgun that will shoot so far that you have to pack salt in the shells to keep the meat from ruining while you can walk and get it...LOL
