I once owned a Remington Model 5, but wasn't all that impressed with it. For one thing it is too heavy for a .22 Sporter. Another thing the bolt handle is too small, the clip rattles, and the rifle's chamber won't take CCI Mini-Mag .22 LR ammo, as the live rounds can't be ejected, so you have to use another brand like Winchester or Remington. I was told the Remington Model 5 has a "Match" chamber which is tighter than the average .22 Rifle. Besides that, the rifle is accurate and nice looking, but if I were in the market for a .22 LR then I'd choose a CZ M-452 American Classic or theitr LUX if you want open sights.
