You may not believe this but our sweet corn is right at 10 foot to the tassles. Is this normal? Will have to post a pic or two of the garden Sunday.

Given the right growing conditions and fertilizer and particular breeding yes it can. Ive had funks G90 get around the 9 ft mark.

What type of sweet corn is it? My peaches & cream is about 6 1/2 ft tall. I have heard of some varieties growing as high as 12-15 ft. I am new to having a garden so I am just curious.

I want to see a pic of Barney's corn. His stuff always looks the best.

I planted peaches and cream, its about the same as you'res, the silver queen right next to it is at least 2 foot taller, and probably 2 weeks later to maturity, though they were both planted the same day.

It's sugarpearl. Never had corn this tall this early, not to mention it just now tassled this week, so should be extra growth. Just hope this doesn't mean super productive stalks and low ear count.

I seen a guy who had a bunch of horse crap around his and you could hardly see the top. Actually it was at least 9 feet tall.

I have some sweet corn called "Kandy Corn" that I bought at Lowe's this year & it is right at 7' tall now. It's just now tasseled out also, but I have never seen sweet corn grow so tall myself. At home I can't seem to remember that our sweet corn ever got over 5'-6' tall. Maybe it's due to all of this rain.

Our sweet corn is a little taller this year also, I figured it was because of the extra rain that we have been having this season. Hopefully, the flavor will not have a watered down taste.

Most every garden plant is taller this year. Its not really due to the extra rain, its due to the extra number of cloudy, gloomy, dark, dreary, depressing, sunless days we've had, its called "stretching".
Stretching is really bad over where a good friend of mine gardens, he lives and gardens with a mountain on 3 sides of him. His dwarf maters, guaranteed not to exceed 18 inches in highth.....are well over 4'. He was telling me just the other day, that he may need to borrow a stepladder to pick his crop of Golden Bantam sweet corn.:)

You just described my garden to a T. There is a mountain on exactly 3 sides of our property.

I planted tender treat too, its 7-9 ft tall. I thought I had done well with preperation until Barney deflated my balloon with that statement:D

I have jubilee hybrid in my garden and it's pushing 8 ft. Everything is bigger then usual this year except for my peppers. Some of my tomato plants had to be staked 4-5 times they're so big. Not complaining though. :)
