im not gettin the accuracy im wanting outta my ML.i bought the CVA firebolt ultramag in .45. ive tried different gr.charges and so far 85gr seems best, but im not at all happy with the results. im also using the powerbelts in 225gr HP and AT and see no difference. im hoping the prob is with me and not the before mentioned 'cause trying different bullets get real expensive. the reason i think its me is because the trigger on this gun takes 3 lb of pull and i like a hair trigger. ive noticed while im squeezing the trigger the Xhairs are dancin all over the target......sorry for being so long winded

My hunter bolt .45 likes the 225 grain HP powerbelts and 90 grains loose pyro dex. I am now shooting the 195 grain HP PB and 130 grains pellets. It shoots well. I group good to 150 yards. The CVA's have adjustable triggers using an allen wrench near the trigger guard. I adjusted mine down to about 2 lbs. If you don't know how to do it I would take it to a gunsmith. Try shooting at the target with no primer. If you are flinching on trigger pull you will never get good patterns. It will not hurt your gun. I had to do that trick to my wife who hated shooting guns. When she quit flinching I put a primer in and blam. 4" over bullseye at 100 yds. She shot high at 80yds and took a 125" 8pt Sunday. I use a bore butter patch between each shot and after cleaning.
With my 195 grain PB HP and 130 grains pellets I shoot 2" high at 50, 3-4" high at 100 and dead on at 150 with about a 3 to 4 inch group at 150 yards.
I am using the 209 primers.

Raktrakr, I've got a CVA fire bolt, try Hornady's XTP sabots 240 gr with 90 grains of powder. That's all I've used in mine for the past 3 years. You should be able to have 3 inch groups at 100 yards.
Good Luck

I still shoot the 385gr. Buffalo bullets. Totally awesome preformance on deer! Most shot within a hundred yards never take another step. I shoot them behind 90grs. and get better than 2" groups at 100 yds. The Horandy Great Plains bullet shoots as well, as does one by Remington, but the lead is a bit harder and doesn't preform as good on meat as the Buffalo. For me, I got away from sabots because of the hard loading. The Powerbelt designs have eliminated some of that, but I haven't sen a need to try them yet. If I had long range shooting in mind, it would be different.
