Henderson County is in the second district.

While operating under separate by-laws, the league has strong ties to the federations and draws it's strength from them. Each federation elects a person to serve on the LKS Board from their respective district. Federation Presidents and Vice-Presidents are automatic delegates to the LKS annual convention. Each of the 9 District Federations have their own by-laws which may vary slightly. The League has a separate set of by-laws. Most, though not all, clubs that belong to a federation also belong to the League. I think most federation by-laws allow a club to belong to a federation without also being a League member. LKS by-laws however, require league affiliated member clubs (except statewide affiliates) to also be a member of a federation.

If I am incorrect with any of this summation, someone please advise.

Districts and federations are the same thing....can't get much more streamline than that.

Here is a quick run down on how the LKS works AND why it is like that.
The LKS is made up of 9 districts that mirror the commission members districts. These districts are called Federations. The Federations are made up of Sporting clubs within those counties. The Federations are seperate from the LKS, actually the LKS IS the Federations.
It is important that sportsmen know this point. The sportsmen ARE the LKS. The way the LKS is set up is to allow small groups the same voice as large groups.
For example the 6th Federation/ District consists of 17 counties. The various groups within those couties are the Federation. The 6th allows each Federation club 2 votes. These is to ensure a large club does not take over and that every groups voice is heard. The 6th is a good example. During Fereration meetings The Central KY Coon Hunters(50 members?) has the same voice as the Blue Grass Sportsman's League (3000) members!
I think this is VERY important in getting ones voice out to the world.
Rouge, the KTBA can join up as a 6th Federation Club, dues are $10 a year I hope you guys will join up. I would like to come to the shoot Saturday but I'll be at the HFH cook-off.

Thanks to Cumberland Valley Sports League for hosting the 9th District meeting and glad to have them as the lastest club to rejoin the federation. Several issues were discussed and a summary will be forwarded to the LKS President. Our next meeting has been tentatively scheduled for Thursday October 7th. The time and place will be announced later. If you are an interested sportsman from one of the eleven (11) counties in the 9th please mark your calendar and plan on attending.
