I'm taking my son to a reds game next Saturday night. Anybody have any suggestions on a hotel that doesn't cost 150-200 a night. I was searching online and most of them close around the river were a little pricey. Found some around Florence reasonable. Just wondering if anyone on here had stayed somewhere that they would recommend. Thanks

Don't stay downtown or by the river unless you just want to,too expensive. If you just want a room the cheaper ones would be in Florence .Motel 6 on dream street.
I don't know the cost but I was just at a wedding reception at the Holiday Inn on Mineola Pike off I-275 near the airport, very nice place with plenty to do for kids and only a short drive to the stadium.
Best thing to do is a little internet shopping.

There are alot more around, just your preference, but better to stay on the Kentucky side of the river.

Look for traverlers discount coupon books. These can be found at any rest area and many resturants along the interstate. These really work as I have saved a bunch by using them. Just make sure you read the fine print.

Try the Travelodge in Newport. You can walk to the game from there. When I checked online, its only $75 a night for next Sat night.

ANYPLACE but this place! Trust me on this one! I live and work in the City and this is the last place ya wanna stay.

I haven't ever booked with the Holiday Inn Express on Landmark Dr. in Bellevue. Brand new and may be worth your while. 859-957-2320. Close enough to the park to walk or pick up a muni-bus!

PS: PM for my work number is ya need/want to call for information. :D

Yep,if you don't mind all the Hookers,Pimps,Junkies, and the chance at getting robbed by the "Brothers" from the projects.

Do yourself a favor and stay in Florence near the mall and drive to the game.

Go to Newport on the Levee prior to the game and park there. $5. Gameworks is a great place for kids and adults alike.

You can then walk over the bridge to the game and back over to go home. It is safe because a large crowd is always walking back and forth. Some of the Fort Wright and Cincy places mentioned are COMPLETE DUMPS and are in UNSAFE AREAS.

Cincy is a nice town, but it is not the best place to be after dark. :(

I thought they tore down the projects.

I was recently working at Elm and Patterson ,Two Rivers Retirement Building, looked like the projects behind there to me,several Subs had tools stolen while carrying them in or out and setting some down for a minute.I watched drug sales go on the corners daily, somebody said they had a crack machine at the bar on the corner.:)

I thought they tore down the projects.

The housing on the north side of fourth street has been torn down. It is still there on the south side. Yea, they do still have issues on that (south) side. Not a good place to visit, that's for sure.

You can take the projects down but the ghetto still remains...

Yeah your son will love it. They have a huge sports bar/arcade/restaurant down there.
