Yes, I am the lead judge for the "backyard" event. I can't compete in the "pro" event due to being one of the organizers. KCBS rules do not allow it even though it is a double blind judged event.

Guys so far we only have 3 backyard guys that are doing every meat category. The other backyard guys are only doing one category. To win the backyard free pro spot at the Hoosier Daddy event, it is the most accumulated points. So the more meat categories that you compete in, the better your chances to step up.

We have roughly 20 nationaly ranked pro teams registered. If you don't want to compete, atleast come out and smell the Hickory. This is a family friendly event. :D
