My father and I just returned from the gun and knife show in Nashville. I was searching for .380 ammo and he wanted 7.62x39. He found plenty of the rounds he was searching for, but as for my .380 ammo, if anyone had any it was around 45 bux a box. They had 9mm ammo, but it was all going for 20-25+ per box.

BTW, I found a Remington Viper .22 just like the one I own. Prices have gone up for these firearms as this one was selling for 175. I attempted to purchase a clip for this firearm and the guy quoted it at 75 dollars!! What the heck are people thinking anymore?? I understand gun shows always sell items for more than anyone else, but come on. It seemed like this was even found in the people that wanted to sell or trade their weapons. I overheard a guy who wanted 300 for a used 3 inch magnum 870 in poor shape.

Sounds like ammo was available, but you didn't want to pay current market price?

I guess you felt you were being gouged. Seems to be quite a bit of buying then by bumping up the price for personal gain.

That's the way its going to be for quite some time I think. Some people will do anything to make a buck including screwing over the next guy.

You could beat "some people" at their own game. Don't buy it if you don't like the price...

Ta-Da!!!!

Winner!!!!!!!

The high prices aren't gouging. They are the norm right now because everybody HAS to have ammo RIGHT NOW!!! The gubbment is gonna get us, so they have to stockpile.

If the sellers sat on that $50.00 box of .380s for a month, the price would go down.

I think the ammo is letting up a little. I have seen about 15 boxes of 9mm ($14.99) and 10 boxes or so of .38 specials ($19.99) at the local sporting goods store. Wal-mart also had a 100 box of .380 jhp's ($34).
