Does anyone know of any classes coming up soon around the Lexington area??

Bluegrass Sportsmans League has one on the 4th saturday of each month. If you find another one, let me know. I need to get mine ASAP. Combat Triad (member here) teaches them in Irvine but I haven't heard back from him for over a month.

Sportsman's Warehouse has one once a month and I believe Sling point has one every month as well.

Be prepared for a long wait from the day of the class to the day you put your license in your pocket. I took the class on April 4, filled out the application and had my picture taken at the sheriff's office on April 14, and I am still waiting for my letter from KSP telling me I can pick up the license at the sheriff's office. They say it may take KSP up to 90 days to do their part, which means I may be waiting until mid-late July.

Should be at the end of June. I'll try and get some more info from the instructor and send you a PM. Our last class went really well and I was pretty happy with our new instructor.

It's weird... I've heard from two people I took the class with (husband and wife) took the class on the same day, turned in their certificates and payed the sherriff at the same time, and he got his back in two weeks, she still hasn't seen hers.

Does anybody know how I can check on the status? Who to call at KSP? Just want to make sure it hasn't dropped through the cracks somewhere.

I wouldn't call until it's been 90 days since you were in the sherriff's office.

Agreed. It can take quite a while sometimes.

It took a while for mine but i called my sheriff office and she called frankfort for me and checked on it!
