.............or fickle, or........nuts, or.........??????

I really like the idea of high end guns but just am having trouble justifying the price.

I may just keep my Mossberg with blue barrel and wood stock as it will kill anything I can hit with it. If I really decide to go synthetic or camo stock, may look at the 870 Waterfowl or the Browning BPS.

Either way, I will keep you guys informed so my crazy nuts image will hold true.:)

So... what's this particular shotgun gonna be used for? I'm completely behind saving your money for functionality over eye-candy, but I'm not sure what you're looking for here.

I am kinda wanting a synthetic or camo waterfowl shotgun and thought I had the Beretta, SX3, or Benelli bug, and kinda wanted a semi-auto.

I handled them and they are sweet but I just can't justify the $$$ for a firearm that will primarily only be used for waterfowl.

Then I saw the Browning BPS and the 870 Waterfowl and they are nice looking as well, come camo'd and the price is considerably more affordable.

I have a Mossberg 835 which is a terrific firearm, will do anything I need and is great shape but somehow the "new toy" itch got me. I am sure no one else ever has this "new toy" problem. LOL

Logically, I know the smart thing is to just shoot the Mossberg but those other guns certainly are sweet.

You absolutely will not find a shotgun that patterns as good as that Mossberg 835, and you'll miss that.

I swore up and down for years that I would never drop the $ for one of the expensive autoloaders.

I've had (or still have) 2 835's and a handful of 870's. I even went with a Nova to dip my toes in the foreign gun waters.

That being said.... I bought an SBEII the first year that they came out and waterfowl is about the only thing that I hunt with it. I love the gun but I use the other shotguns for everything else out of nostalgia.

They all go bang and all do the deed if I hold up my end of the deal.

I said it once and I'll say it again....go find a used SBE and get it over with. They can be found for around 600-800. It will be the last shotgun you ever need for waterfowling.
