President Barack Obama declared Wednesday he would try to block the court-ordered release of photos showing U.S. troops abusing prisoners, abruptly reversing his position out of concern the pictures would "further inflame anti-American opinion" and endanger U.S. forces in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Or he doesn't want Americans to see that the so-called abuse wasn't as bad as they claim....

In my opinion, it doesn't serve any purpose other than to infuriate the terrorists into killing more Americans Troops.

Obama doesn't want that because then it would mean his approval rating would continue to drop like a rock and he would be in the same situation that Bush was.

If it hadn't been for the war, Bush would have gone out with a great approval rating and the Republicans would still be in power.

But hey, that is just my opinion.

you're probably right, I was just putting spin on his flip flopping. I just doubt his decision making ability ALOT.

He's put himself in a hard spot. He has to sooth the leftist radicals that make up his base and live in the real world all at the same time.

The left really wanted to put out these pics, because it would bolster their cause in proving Bush as a war criminal. Releasing the pics would serve no purpose other than creating propaganda that degrades Bush AND America and prop up Obama and the liberals with their anti-American agenda.

I've have to give Obama some credit, because at least in this instance he seems to realize that he's going down the wrong path.

Art, imagine the pain that Obama went through in having to deny the Liberals the opportunity to pile more stuff on the Bush Administration.

In my opinion, you are correct about having to appease the Liberals and having to deal with the real problem the country is facing.

It also put a fly in his ointment when Pelosi claimed she knew nothing of the waterboarding, only to find out that she knew all about it. Of course today she came out and said the Bush administration "misled" her.:rolleyes:

She now says she was briefed that others had been briefed, but she was never actually briefed. Then she went on to say that the CIA lied to her. Even Jon Stewart is making fun of her! That's OK, Nancy. I'm sure MSNBC and Olbermann still believe you are honest.:D

Panetta and Hoyer threw her under the bus and ran over her.

Don't know if you saw the one press conference that she gave, she couldn't find her notes and kept mumbling like a drunk.

Then started walking sideways like a sidewinder and couldn't structure a complete sentence that made any sense.

Imagine the outcry if a Republican was to do what she did, the lamestream media and Liberals would run them out of town.
