Hey guys, i got a question for you that i think i know the answer to, but im hoping im wrong... I have an older Sea Nymph that I have been completely redoing. Im almost done with it and ready to put the steering back in. The cable is now too long because i moved the console further back in the boat. Its in perfect shape, so i hate to have to buy a new one. I was wondering if there is any way to shorten the steering cables. I know they are pretty tightly crimped together and sealed, but just curious if anyone has ever tried this before. ...or if you have any other ideas. Let me know what you think. Thank guys!

I don't know of any way to shorten them.

Are they long enough that you can simply fold them back on themselves and tie up the slack?

Unless you are hercules you are not gonna bend a steering cable and fold it back on itself... you must be thinking of throttle or shift cables...;)
