Has this happened to any of you ? A buddy of mine told me the other day ,he was at home, when there was a knock on his front door.He went to the door and there was a young woman standing there who said she was working for the census bureau. She asked ,if could he answer a few questions. He said she looked official with her papers and so forth so he invited her in .She started asking how many people live here and so forth. Then she preceded to ask him some strange and personal questions.Like, if he owned any guns and if so, were they in the house. He said do what and ask her to leave as that was none of her business or anyones else. She left and he called the state police ,they came and looked for her ,but could not locate her.Is this just someone scoping out a house or the goverments way of finding out who has guns and who dont,I wonder.

Could be ,but he sounded serious about it.I dont think he would make something up like that.He said he should have got her plate number, but didnt think of it till she had already left.

I say he is being honest.
I had a guy asking/doing the same thing.
He said he was with the census and checking to see where people were living....seemed a little odd.
My neighbor called the cops b/c there has been a man driving around lately enticing kids.

We had a lady come by, we werent here the first time and she left a card and some more info behind informing us to call her when an available time to stop by, we had been radomly selected and it was federal law, etc.... She came back and my wife spoke with her, standard info that you fill out on your census, nothing special,

Most of the time, census workers are locals. Ask where they live!

Why did he invite her in? They will get my info from the driveway or the porch. No need for them to come in the house.

i thought, and i may be wrong, but the census workers are not allowed ( by their own rules ) to enter a house, regardless if they personaly know you or not.
