I just want to say that I am a big fan of the police.
I feel better knowing that my parents (who live a ways from me) can make a call if something terrible happens and in a matter of minutes - police officers will be there, willing to put their lives on the line, to protect them.
Just want to say that I appreciate the job you all do. I understand that it must be very difficult to not lose your temper and stay professional. It speaks volumes that unfortunate incidents are few and far between.
Keep up the good work.
Thanks for your service!

I wish we had the police you must have. I'm still waiting for an officer to take a report from a break in we had over 2 years ago. Gave the 911 operator a perfect description and everything but, still no cops no report nothing.

As a former police officer, thank you. BUT, I certainly hope your parents take steps to protect themselves besides having 911 on speed dial. Even though the police may be able to be there in minutes, sometimes it only takes seconds for the $#!% to hit the fan. I know the police will not be able to do anything if my family is victim of a home invasion. They will be good for showing up and removing the bodies, but other than that they'll be useless.

did you by chance follow up? I'm very surprised a call to 911 did not revieve any attention at all. A complaint was in order if thats truly the case.

Yep I followed it up. The idiot is still on the force. No punishment or anything. It works out that way when his buddys dad is the mayor. We were having break ins several times a week too.

The Police I know personally are very dedicated and honest with the exception of one. Therein lies the problem, it only takes one dirty cop to soil the reputation of an entire force. You seldom see anything about the daily sacrifices, stresses, and good works of the good cops. You more often hear about the dirtbags that get caught dirty or some incompetent idiot doing something stupid on duty. Every group has bad apples and cops are no different, but for some reason the public is less forgiving of the police. Personally I think that law enforcement of any kind that is convicted of a serious crime, especially on duty, should get a manditory double sentence.
Thank God for dedicated Law Enforcement Officers, without them the world would be in chaos.
