Finding that ammo is going to take some detective work my friend. Over here in Lexington Sportsman's Warehouse has 223 sometimes but it gets bought out as soon as they put it on the shelf. You could also try bud's in Paris for some of the handgun ammo. Good luck to you. :)

WKB said it best, Detective work. I will throw in Persistence as well. The only place in Winchester that I know of is Wal-Mart, the gunshop over there went out of business a couple of years ago. I can't even find bricks of .22's at any of the Walmarts in Paris, Georgetown, Lexington, Nicholasville or Winchester. You have to just keep checking every day or so and don't be surprised when the clerk tells you "I had xx amount this morning but one or 2 guys bought all I had. One guy here at work got 6 boxes of Winchester 9mm 100/bx in Paris yesterday for $21/bx. They had 10 on the shelf but they are only allowing 6 per customer.
You may want to look online for your ammo, the only bad thing there is paying shipping on top of already exhorbant prices.
Good Luck!

I've been buying it online at different sites. I watch the forums and when someone posts a gun supply site has some certain ammo I'm looking for I check it out and if the price and shipping is good then I'll buy.

I was in Bass Pro over the river in Indiana today and I was a little surprised. They had two boxes of 250 rounds of .223 UMC bulk. They also had defensive rounds in 9mm, .40, and .45. I can't remember .38 sp, but they had almost NO target ammo.

Dicks has .223, 9mm and .45 ammo on sale almost every week. Case price on the .223 is under $10.00 per box. They have actually had it in stock every time I have gone in both Lexington stores.

Yesterday I scored one box of 9mm at Gander Mt. for 19.99 . Then got a box for 14.99 at the gun shop where I bought a Springfield XDm 9mm. Then today I went back to Dicks and got 5 boxes for 11.98 a box. ( they just got in a shipment). It would have been 14.98 a box but if you buy 5 the sell it at the case price.
I had been checking WalMart several days a week and they never have it. They keep telling me to check back. I think someone working on the inside is buying it all and it's never hitting the self.
I talked to a guy that said the Winchester rep. told him this shortage thing should be over in about 12 weeks. I dont believe it but I hope its true.
So now I have 350 rounds to get me started. I'll try and get the XDm broke in and get use to shooting it.
