I have my Father's Model 37 12 gauge Ithica inwhich I have a 20" Slug Barrel with open sights. Also, it's grooved for scope mounting. The barrel is intended for slugs so it's open bored. My question is can some company fit an Invector turkey choke to this barrel?? Any one here in Ky that could do the job? <Thanks>

Ithaca can sell you a compatible barrel threaded for chokes, or a smith can thread your barrel for you, to use the choke system of your choice.

This is a smooth bore barrel,,, Right?
Measure the barrel’s outside diameter at the muzzle. If it is at least .845” OD the barrel walls should be thick enough for the Browning Invector choke. If the diameter is a bit less there are other options such a Tru-Choke style tubes to get your barrel fixed up

Here's a number for TRU LOCK CHOKES 1-800-293-9402. They can help you find a compatible choke for your shotgun or at least tell you which chokes are compatible.

Check with GunCat on here. He cut and threaded my 870 bbl for chokes last year. He did an excellent job and fast service.

Yes, the barrel is smooth bore and the Ithica's serial No: is: 335xxx, so it was made around 1952 and has a 2 3/4" chamber. Several years ago, when I was living in Indiana; I had Ithica make me a slug barrel that would fit older Ithica M-37's. Now that I can use a rifle for Deer here in Ky; I was thinking about having a turkey choke installed so I could have a shorter barreled shotgun for Turkey Hunting. I currently have a Browning Gold 20 gauge, but the only choke I have for it is just a regular full choke. Do you think this gauge (20 ga) if I buy a Turkey X-Full choke would be okay for Turkeys? <Thanks>
