Anyone have a recent report? I am trying to decide if I am going this weekend or not. I know that some are saying that they are just henned up but, I hunted Fri-Mon last weekend and I saw plenty of hens all day long....No Gobblers. I only heard 6 distant and very early gobbles. I need some recent recon. THANKS

The reports I am hearing are they are still pretty henned up. Just give out the coordinates to your farm here and I'm sure someon will hunt it for ya Thu. and give a full report:D

They are hard to work right now unless you get lucky. I had a good opener but things have slowed down quick.

Can't get them, sitting at home. Get out and have some fun. FYI, later in the day, the hens leave for the nest and the Gobblers are lonely. If you're not hearing much early, try it later in the day.
I got lucky this season; two days, two shots, two birds. Done.:D

Nice season. 4 birds in 6 trips here. 2 mine & 2 my sons! Later in the day might just bring you some action.

If you are limited on time to hunt try 8-1. In my opinion the best thing to do right now if you are not hearing much is set up in a turkey looking spot...in my opinion this is a field that is small or a spot in a field that would tend to lend a gobbler to strut in or just cross looking in search of some hens...If you do not have a full strut decoy I would get or borrow one...set it up and set up where you can see good and be comfy...I think that most of the birds right now are a little educated and sneaking in...the birds are not talking much but are making quick stops in and out of areas looking for hens or hanging around hens...the birds that are being killed that are henned up are nice long spurred gobblers...it is all in rather what you want to do...find a hot bird or wait birds out...there will be another peak in gobbling before season is over...remember the birds you are hunting may be in someones freezer or plum spoked to no end. I think the patience game and hard core game are both good but if you are limited on ground and not sure what to do then I would try the passive approach and wait them out...
