I've got two gobblers I have been chasing the past two weeks and I feel like I have got them patterned really well and the best place to ambush them is in a field they pass through with little cover. I was thinking about sitting out my blind for my Saturday hunt but I have never hunted turkey out of my blind. I was wondering if they would be skiddish of the 'new' blind like deer are in the fall. I have heard from others that turkey don't pay any attention to blinds but I wanted to hear what you guys think.

If there is any cover at all put your blind by in and try to brush it in if possible.
Turkey are not as afraid like a deer.
I have set a blind up in the middle of a field and the turkey come in to 5 yards but we had decoys out and did some calling and we had 4 long beards come in and my buddy shot one with his bow. This was early in the season and they had not been hunted much.
If you have not had any luck and only watch them using this area following the hens and doing what turkeys do, what do you have to lose.

I've set a pop up dead in the middle of a field and killed birds--they act as if it was never there--decoys will help--just be careful not to make any noise while doing so before daylight--if they hear any noise they may avoid the area--I always allowed enough time before daylight and be as quite as I could setting the blind out then still have some time for everything to settle down--deer are the ones that go ballistic at something new

I love hunting out of a blind. It is so much more comfortable and you can set longer and be patient longer. I had the same scenerio this season. I was seeing a strutter in a field every single afternoon between 2:30 and 3:30. I went out there at 12 last tuesday and packed my blind out there and set it up in the edge of a shelled corn field full of yellow floors. The key to my hunt I beleive was to put the blind where the turkeys wanted to be. They were hanging out in a certain spot in the field each time I seen them. So thats where I put my blind. I cut down a few small small trees to brush up the front of it. Took maybe 5 or 10 min. Set up my decoys at 2o yards. B mobil, she mobil and just waited. He walked out 60 yards to my left with two hens. He never gobbled one time. I purred a couple of times on my slate call. The hens where walking my way and he was following. He got to about 40 yards and was in full strut. Started walkin real fast right toward B mobil cocked his fan to the side and BOOM.. C ya. They never payed any attention to the blind at all. If you are able to find just a little cover put it there where the birds like to be. Good luck and keep us posted.
