got a turkey with a 6 1/4 inch beard 22 lbs it a tom or a jake just wanted to know its my first

Sounds like a Jake, does he have little button spurs and a un-even tail fan? If so hes a Jake.

6 inches and longer is a gobbler.
I know plenty people that have killed gobblers without spurs.

If the middle feathers in his tail are longer than the rest he's a jake. Congrats on you bird...

i took a jake once with a full fan. but, it only had bout a 3 in. beard and button spurs. also, its gobble was broken up too. guess weight was prolly 15 lbs.
