turkeys and noise in the dark

How much attention do turkeys pay to noise they hear in the dark.

Just imagine setting on a limb for 10 hours or so in the woods, and you start to imagine what they must hear underneath them night after night. I've always used this rule of thumb. If they can't see the ground, you can get right under them. Just keep the "un natural" sounds to a nil minimum and you're good.
