Went out this morning to a place that i heard several birds gobbling at yesterday morning, Hit the Owl call and only had one bird to gobble. Set up 100 yards away from him, he fly down and never paid attenion to my calling. Had hens roosting with him. Don't know why the birds wasn't gobbling this morning. I don't know what it is but birds aren't working worth a crap for me this season anyone else having this problem?

Greenheadhunter I am hunting in the same county and the birds sound exactly like my birds. Birds are there but act as if you aren't at all. I am going to give it up until towards the end of season. Maybe with less interested hens they will have to stoop to us made up hen calls.

Good luck, :D

Having the same problem in the Western Ky area.. Had a farm with 6 birds located. Have not over pressured it by any means. Went there the other morning did not hear a bird one gobble from the roost. But seen 4 different long beards there during the afternoon with some hens. Its a big farm with no other known hunters. ???? Beats the heck out of me. Had very high hopes for that property.

This seems to be the situation throughout the state.I thought it was particular to central and eastern Ky. but friends in western Ky. say they're experinecing similar frustrations.I'm hoping a few days of wetter and cooler weather will change things but it's probable that the season started late and we missed the chase. All I've attracted so far are ticks.Moocho ticks.

Had more gobbling in the last couple of days than in the rest of the season combined before that. I'm hoping the predictions from some on here are right and the last week and a half will pick up. Have been fortunate enough to lay the hammer down on one thus far but really would like to fill both of my tags this year. Good luck to all who are still going after them and keep the spirits up and stay patient hopefully some good fortune will head our way.

went back this morning to the same spot as i posted about on peabody, worked the bird into within shooting range this morning but couldn't get a shot he was on the other side of a cane thicket in the woods. I'll be back after him in the morning hopefully he does the same, this time i'll be in the woods waiting on him. i kept pullin him from the hens then he'd go back finally he couldn't take it anymore. Hopefully my next post is pictures of the bird. Good Luck to all, Have patients don't give up takes time

Seems like these are the same problems I read on this site year after year. That's turkey hunting!
