Well guys, I did it again...I limited out here in Tennessee. Thursday morning I took my 4th bird of the season. Yes, I'm proud. Always! The reason, cause I know that I hunt without baiting a site, shooting while on roost etc...just pure hard calling (when it is effective) and or bushwacking.
Woke up that morning for a 30 mile drive down to Rutherford County Tennessee (Murfreesboro) for a hunt with my best friend, Kenny Mac. As always, he was late and did not arrive at the truck stop in time. By the time we arrived at the Spot it was light. As we crept into the woods between the treeline on the farm he could hear gobbling...yep, they were already on the ground. "Dang", I though to myself...then I began to curse Kenny aloud....yep, he had irritated me with his lateness, but I had to deal with it...because this was his farm...and a fine one at that. See, for the past 6 years that Kenny and I have hunted together. Last year was the only year that he and I had not double-atleast once during a season. We just hunt well togther. Anyway, as we set up off the creek we got busted, then shortly afterwards decided to moved and re-setup. Well, that wasn't feeling like that best thing to do. Kenny and I decided that the birds were on the other side of the creek and once again ended up hunting 20 years off the creek bank, and low and behold I was proved right. Lets make this real short. We harvested a double...yes, we had scored our ninth double kill together 5 out of 6 years..Man, we were and still happy as heck. What so funny is that Kenny got spurred...lol. Man, in all summary, we ended our 2009 Tennessee season with a jelly head bang! Now, I'm off to Ohio to hunt with a good buddy. Pics to follow in a days of so...misplaced my usb cord. Good night!
