I went out this morning (4/26) and heard a couple of half hearted gobbles way off and nowhere near me. Looked across on the next farm and there was 8 gobblers all fanned out just standing around not hardly moving. No jakes, all mature birds as all had full fans and I had my 10X binos on them. There was a single hen with them and that is all. I watched them for a couple hours all the while listening for some action on my place. Along around 10:30, they all faded over the ridge to the woods and deeper hollows all the while staying fanned out and tight lipped. Guess my calling ain't what it used to be. Hopefully, that trashy hen will be sittin next weekend and them boys will come my way.
