WOOT WOOT, so many of you have read my other threard where I took my first turkey (jake) the first morning of season, with my bow....

Well today I took my longbeard! AGAIN WITH MY BOW!

Roosted birds last night with my wife, got there nice and early and set up. Birds started gobblin just before day break... after the sun broke, i never heard a peep! I sat there and seen one Tom come into the field about 815 @200yds and feed for 10 mins and go right back in.... I decided to slip my blind farther down towards the corner and closer to that Tom, about 915. At 940 a TOM came into the field RIGHT where i was BEFORE!!! AH CRAP! He feed a little, and finally noticed my decoys, at first he didnt seem to concerned. I ranged him at 123 yrds, he seem unsure if he wanted to come to the decoys or go the other way.. He chose the wrong path :)

He worked his way towards me and the decoys and came within 5 yds of the jake decoy and went to full strut. I didnt want to wait, he was right at 30yds and i let the Hoyt katera/and rage 2 blade Eat!! Ran maybe 15yds and took a dirt nap!

So IM tagged OUT! and TOTALLY PUMPED
NOW its on to FORT Campbell, still got 2 birds on post with my name on it

BIG BIG Thanks to NYhuntingKY, he has litterally tought me everything I know this far about hunting turkey. And a thanks in advance, for helping me mount the fan/beard/spurs. Got to thank the Forums too, great info and people!

Also need to thank Skin_dog and the LRGC team for his/there awesome products!

22.5Lbs (i think my scales off lol)

nice lookin set up as well...

THANKS!!!

That all there cost me a grand total of $25

The blind was free and was kinda weird, it has these metal things that run in circles on each side and its supposed to fold up all nice and neat... well it didnt... i took out one of the metal things and it folds up all nice now, I bought a $10 tent pole and use it in place of the metal on one side lol

and the decoys were about $15 2 jakes and a hen... opted for the one jake set up today lol

and i cant complain...was gonna buy a B-mobile...but not sure if i need too...im sure by next season, ill upgrade to some more realistic looking decoys.

i agree with you those blinds can become a hassle i have one and i honestly think sometimes i could sovle the rubic's cube before i figure out how to fold it back up. mine would be ok for shooting a bow but its kinda cramped...
Are ya gonna let the mrs try for a turkey? if so good luck
(oh by the way id stop and buy a lottery ticket as well cuz your on a roll)

LOL theres no way she would ever get out and hunt! Only reason she was out with me the other night to roost the birds was to see the new baby chicks at the farm lol.

And Next season Ill definatly have new blind, this one is small, drawin the bow is a TASK! i dont like the overall design of the blind, BUT i do like the windows..very minimal opening less likely to get caught drawin back, once you learn how to shoot thru that hole your good as gold! I found the same blind here locally just bigger, for $90.

Thats awesome. Congrats on doing something I've yet to do! Just don't have the dedication to stick with the bow during turkey season.
