If you called 2 birds in for your buddy and you called the shot to soon. If your buddy shot once and you shot once, How long would you let things die down on the farm before heading back out to the farm? Hours? Days?. We went out this morning for my buddys 2nd time out and heard music to our ears around 6:30. We also heard another hunter on the farm beside ours which is federal property. I called in that bird which ended up being a jake and a big tom that was about 300 yrds away. We had about 4 hens in with our decoys and the jake and tom started to fight outside our range and then the tom went out of sight. Then the jake appeared about 15 to 20 yrds away from the coys. I thought he was closer but guess not and i told my buddy to take em if he could. He shot and nothing, then i shot after he ran but he was long gone. Just wondering what everyone thinks about getting back after them with the two shots. Anyway it was a great experience seeing the two birds fight like they did and the reaction of my buddy getting to see this only on his 2nd time turkey hunting.
