I am in the process of having an 18th century .54 Cal. smooth rifle custom built. I have not been involved in any black powder competitions and know very little about it. I am interested though. I live in Bowling Green, KY and have started to gather information over the last few days about getting involved. Any information or suggestions would be appreciated. It will about a year before my rifle is finished so there is no rush. By the way, I have also noticed that it is very difficult to find retail sales locations that sell black powder. Have you ran into the same problem? Bowling Green has none that I have been able to locate.

Hey Roger, send me some info on it. I'm not a member of anything in the 3rd district, but would be interested in coming out and burning some powder[:D]!!!!!! Shame that I can't bring my Knight![:(] Guess I'll have to take the scope off of my .58 cal. No big loss though. If it will drive tacs with a scope, I guess it will do the same open sighted (I wonder if the shooter can though [:0][B)][8D]).

The only purpose of bread is to hold meat!

I might bring my old hawken...haven't brought home any bacon with it for a while. Is there any provision for shooters from outside the 3rd district.

We'll have to get the consenus of the shooters from the 3rd as the trophies are geared for members of the 3rd. But if you want to come out and shoot with us, I have no problem what so ever. Are you bringing a team or shooting by your lonesome?

I am going on a tour of Ft. Knox with a scout group on the 24th and thought I might get away for a little while but doesn't look like it will work out.
