Does anyone here know how to figure the % of protein in a feed mixture?
for example you take produt A with 30% protien, B with 15% C with 8% and end up with a total protien of 16% this will be for goat feed. I have serched the net but can't find anything on it.

you would think that it would simply be an average if you use equal parts of each. If so then the above formula would be 17.6

10lbs of 30% (3)
10lbs of 15% (1.5)
10lbs of 8%, (.80)
30lbs of the mix will have 5.3lbs of protein, equal to 17.65%

ok, i thought you had to put less amount of the higher protien, what we are thinking about doing is distillers grain, soy bean hulls, alfalfa pellets and dry molasses powder.

Do a google search for Pearson Square. I will have to refresh my memory. I have been doing it on a computer so long, I have forgotten how to do 3 ingredients.
