Ok guys I have a question for you. I am hunting a 500 acre farm that is mostly woods but has some fields and a creek running through it. I went and scouted saturday and heard 11 different birds vocalize before they hit the ground. Problem is I put in all this time and effort scouting preseason and just been informed that another person will be hunting the farm on opening weekend that has no idea what they are doing. I was wondering what are my options for saturday morning seeing as he will most likely hear the same turkeys that I hear and will go for them too. I dont want him to mess me up because I have worked hard to locate these birds and try to pattern their movement and roosting points. What do I do in a situation like that?
Thanks,
Brent

The absolute first thing I would do is find out who he is and try to talk to him before saturday. That's still quit a bit of ground for two guys if both of you hunt smart. Find out where he plans to hunt...and more importantly...let him know where you plan to hunt. Gauge his character a little bit before you panic too much. If he is new to the sport odds are he'll be gone by 8 o'clock or so. Take advantage this. If you can't talk to him before then. Go in and hunt your game plan be keep an eye..and an ear out for him. But whether it's before sat., on sat., or a few days into it. I would make it a point to get to know him a little bit. Find out what days he will hunt. If you have several days to hunt...and plenty of turkeys. You could always help him get a bird and get him outta there.;)
