Well now that just SUCKS! There's nothin' worse than runnin' in to a copperhead up there or a diamondback down here. Either way, it's no good. Let's hope no one has any "bad" run-ins this turkey season.

May be illegal to kill snake in KY but he was moving a log to set up a blind on the edge of an area between field and woods...It was move and risk bite or use a stick to pin his head down...I know that he would have not hurt the snake if he was not in the danger zone...

As far as I know, not illegal at all. Unfortunately, my buddies and I have had a few encounters with copperheads in Eastern KY, only 1 timber rattler.

Thats always the excuse I give the game warden! Sir, it was either him or me, and by golly it wasn't gonna be me! That blue jay was mean I tell ya, maybe even rabid!

Lil ol snake ain't gonna hurt ya! Heck growin up in SC, copper heads and cotton mouths were more common than people with jobs! We used to keep em as pets cause we couldn't afford dogs.

You must just be tougher than me Dave! Pretty funny quote though.....and alot like Eastern KY--"more common than people with jobs."
It's all fun and games until you lose one of your fingers like my buddy did. His nickname now-"Copperhead" ;)

If killing a snake in KY is illegal, I guess I'm up the river. But I don't think it is.

one day i was hunting our families place down in hart county really close to the green river when i encountered a copperhead. the field had just been turned over so it was nothing but clumps of dirt everywhere...perfect hiding place for snakes. anyway, we had just got down turkey hunting and i went out to get the decoys and my buddy was cleanin up our spot. well when i went over to put the decoys away i was standing there and my buddy was like "dont move!!! look between your feet"...well i looked down and there was a small 2 foot copperhead curled up between my feet. needless to say i about jumped outta my boots. we got our stuff and got outta there...
