For all of us who watch turkeys from the road....just please dont stop and look at them during season...Was in TN hunting with a friend the other day and had three long beards coming our way when a truck just had to stop and glass them and they got uneasy and made their way to cover...

Isn't that the truth! How many times have I/we been screwed up by this very action. It's amazing that as long as the truck keep moving, everything should be OK, but the moment it stops to look.......oh well.

Preseason just deal with it...and I can...when I am hunting and see it I think ok they are going to poach or screw it up...I get worried when I see them slow down...dont want to be down range of a poacher that is for sure...I can deal with the birds being spooked better than a load of shot to the face or body...

That's a good reason not to hunt within sight of a road....

Seeing turkeys is a big deal to people, especially those that don't hunt. They are amazed 2c turkeys. Can't blame them for watching.

I had a buddy watch me shoot one the other day in TN from the road. He was about 100 or so yards away. I wish he had a camera, it would have been great footage. He saw the whole thing, as the bird strutted past me. Then, a loud boom and he couldn't get his head off the ground...;)

I guess it depends on the situation. I had two big long beards gobblin their fool heads off and coming to me across a black topped road a few years ago. Here they are in the middle of the road struttin within 10ft of my truck, I think they might have seen their reflection. They had come over 100 yards off another farm and where headed in my direction. Then all of the sudden out of no where I see them break strutt and fly...... just before a car almost ran over both of them going at least 55mph. Pretty sure the lady drivin never hit the brake, maybe even sped up a little, lol. I sure wished they would of waited or stopped, as I am confident one of their beards would of been hanging on my braggin board right now.
