I've been dabbling in some taxidermy work lately. I just finished this up for a friend.

i like them both. ECM, i think i would try to put the spurs and beard a diff. way though, that kinda gives it a evil face. but i like them both

I agree with ya Dave. The other pic above reminds me of that policeman in Silence of The Lambs that Hannibal slices up and then hangs him with his arms out from that jail cell. Just my opinion, but I'd change the positioning to where the head doesn't look like it's been cut off.

how do you even go about doing something like that?

Eric is the modest type, he is on the "have wings will travel" prostaff too. I really think he should get some kind of award for his wings!

BTW, is that an osceola???No, just an Eastern. Killed in Henry Co, TN
how do you even go about doing something like that? It's not really that hard, just overwhelming at first.
The quick tutorial....
Skin the bird
skin the wings...leave all the bones, just remove the meat and fat
skin and defat the tail, remove the tailbone from the middle of the fan
Wash and degrease the skin very well, then dry
Borax the entire skin
Wire the wings into the position you want. (tie wire to the wing bones)
Replace the wing muscle and flight web with clay, bondo, etc
Spread the fan out into the position you want and pin in place
Bondo or hot glue the fan
Obviously, that's "in a nutshell"

ECM, I dont think that picture is doing yours justice. Im betting you can see the spurs and beard better in person than in the picture. Still as long as you like it thats the only thing that matters, its your bird your vision, go for it!
