Went to my farm saturday morning to locate some birds for opening morning and boy was I surprised! Walked to the spot where I remembered them roosting most of the time last season and just let nature play its course.... It was like a chain reaction one bird would hammer and then the others would follow in line :) I sat about a safe 200 yards away from the closest bird and watched a field. Heard 11 different birds vocalize in the trees before they hit the ground and had a lonely old hen walk within 5 feet of me yelping and carrying on. But it was awesome cant wait to show them whos boss on saturday! Good luck to all

+1 for almost exclusive public land hunting.....it must be nice having a spot like that.

I agree. I only hunt public land myself. On a good day, I feel lucky to hear 3 or 4 different birds.

Public land here to.....not sure if I could even kill a turkey anywhere else
Those public land gobblers make ya stick your chest out a little further anyway after you smoke 'em. Seems like there a little tougher, smarter, and they also get well-educated before season starts sometimes . Good luck to you guys.
